According to a Reuters report, NTT DoCoMo recently announced that it will join ACCA Wireless, a WiMAX joint venture led by Japanese broadband network service provider ACCA Networks. The joint venture is capitalized at approximately 72 billion Yen (US$ 624.9 million; US$1 = 115.2 Yen). NTT DoCoMo is expected to hold a 26% stake and ACCA over 40%. Under the tie-up, NTT DoCoMo will assist in constructing the WiMAX network and provide technical support, while ACCA will be in charge of the overall management.
